It's the pump price minus what it costs to get there: your detour distance run against your vehicle's MPG and fuel type, plus the time and gas of the extra drive. A station 10 minutes away that is 5¢ cheaper often nets out negative, and Cheep! Gas shows you that before you drive.
Where do the prices come from?+
A blend of live data backfilled from Google Places and crowd-sourced reports from Scouts, the drivers who tap in the price they see at the pump. Reports are confidence-scored so fresh, trusted numbers win.
